New Date for Town Hall Session At Great Falls

Fort Harrison – Montana’s Veterans Health Administration and Veterans Benefits Administration offices hold back-to-back town hall meetings at the Commission Chambers in The Mansfield Civic Center, 2 Park Dr. S., Great Falls MT, 59401, July 8th.  This is a change to the earlier scheduled June 17th town hall.  The schedule change was required as a result of unforeseen changes to the calendar for senior VBA and VHA leaders.

Town hall meetings start at 5:30 p.m. and feature VA Montana Health Care System followed at 7:00 p.m. by a separate meeting featuring VBA representatives.  The town halls end at 8:00 p.m.

“We are excited to have an opportunity to come together to share ideas and make VA Montana the premier health care system for Veterans,” said Johnny Ginnity, VA Montana Health Care System Director.

“Through these venues, I encourage each hospital and regional office to engage in open dialogue with Veterans, Members of Congress, Veterans Service Organizations, and local media,” said VA Secretary Bob McDonald.

Senior staff from Montana’s VHA and VBA will listen to Veterans and answer questions.  “As we seek continual improvement and rebuild trust among Veterans, it is critical that we continue to learn from our local stakeholders,” McDonald said.

VA will announce locations and dates for future town halls when details are finalized.

Town hall attendees should arrive before 5:30 pm and may park where convenient in any lot.  Elevator access is easiest on the north side of the building.  All attendees should enter through Doors E and F.    Signs point to the room.  Welcome table helpers will ask attendees to register before entering the meeting room.

Veterans who are unable to attend can submit questions or comments to the town hall by email at MontanaTownHallQuestions@va.gov or postal service to the following address:

   US Department of Veterans Affairs
   VA Montana Healthcare System
   3687 Veterans Drive
   Fort Harrison, MT 59636-1500
   Attention: Town Hall Questions

The panel will answer questions during the meeting or in writing afterward.

Media are encouraged to pool so that space in the room is maximized for attending Veterans.

Media are asked to respect patient privacy.  Individuals who decline to be photographed or recorded will wear special nametags for easy identification.

Media may interview attendees at their discretion.

Photography and audio recording is possible during the formal question and answer session.  A public address system will amplify the panelists’ and attendees’ voices.

Private media interviews with VA’s senior leaders follow each session.

Media should contact the public affairs specialist at the telephone numbers in the header of this advisory if they plan to attend or have any questions about the event.
