Montana VA reschedules Veterans Town Hall, Health Fair in Missoula, March 28

Fort Harrison, Mont. – The next Veterans Town Hall hosted by the Department of Veterans Affairs will be in Missoula, March 28.

This event was originally scheduled in early February but was cancelled due to weather and icy road conditions.

The event is open to all members of the public with an interest in Veterans benefits and healthcare.

Local healthcare providers are also invited to attend and learn more about providing Veteran healthcare in the community. VA staff will be available to answer providers’ questions regarding provider agreements, billing and other topics related to delivering that care.

VA staff will use a Health Fair format for the event with a focus on front line staff and managers answering questions Veterans and their family members may have about eligibility and services.

Hosted by the Montana VA Health Care System and the Fort Harrison Regional Benefit Office, the event will be held at the University Center (Room UC225) on the University of Montana campus. Doors open at noon. Brief opening remarks begin at 12:10pm. The event ends at 2:30pm.

Montana VA healthcare staff will be available to discuss a wide variety of topics including: eligibility & enrollment, billing, mental health, community care, and women’s health services.

The Fort Harrison VA human resources office will also be on hand to provide information and answer questions about employment at the VA for both clinical and administrative positions.

Additionally, local Veterans Benefits staff will be available to answer questions related to many of the VA benefits available to eligible Veterans.

Community service providers from the Missoula Joining Community Forces initiative, Montana Dept. of Public Health & Human Services and the Montana Dept. of Administration have also been invited to participate and provide information about their Veteran services & programs.
