Quilts of Valor
Montana members of Quilts of Valor presented quilts to Kathleen Henson, Voluntary Services Chief. The quilts will be distributed to the Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit.
The National Foundation of Quilts of Valor was started because no matter where we stand politically, we accept our warriors and veterans with open arms and open hearts. One only has to talk to the veterans of previous wars and conflicts to get a glimpse that the profound effects of war never really leave.
Their mission is to cover all our warriors and combat veterans who have been touched by war or wounded with our healing and comforting Quilts of Valor.
The Montana Chapter of Quilts of Valor started in 2008. There are people participating from across the state. To date, they have donated forty five quilts. The more recent quilts have been donated to Veterans in the Behavioral Health Unit at VA Montana Health Care at Fort Harrison, so that each Veteran in the unit has a quilt to take home with him or her.
All funds raised stay in the state to be used in the making of the quilts. This group meets in Bozeman once per month with the members bringing their sewing machines.
